Learn about our intentions + motivations

  • At Fencing For Life, we are passionate about three things: fencing, family and life. We are big believers in loving what you do and sharing it with others. We encourage you to find your spark in life and let it shine!

We are a family of four, proudly located in St Louis Park, Minnesota. It seems that swords have always been a part of our life, whether made with cardboard or Star Wars light sabers scattered in the house. So when Caden found fencing, it seemed like a natural flow into the ‘sport of the sword’.

Many years later, Caden (12) loves to travel and compete. Kai (9) is our fencer kid-preneur who loves to sell. We all enjoy our roles in the family business and look forward to watching it grow. No matter what, we are in this together for life!

    En Garde, Prêt, Allez!

  • In 2018, my son Caden was in 2nd grade and brought me a picture of 2 fencers he had found in our community ed magazine. His 3 comments were: What is this? Are they real swords? I’m in.

I didn’t know a lot about fencing but I did know that I saw a spark in Caden. Win or lose, win or learn— this kid is in it for life. It’s been an amazing sport, outlet and community for him.

In 2022, Caden joined newspaper club at his middle school. We started creating fencing designs as he was learning how to use the graphic design tools. What started out as an idea for a t-shirt blew up into a whole collection.

As we created, we wanted to bring an artistic vibe into our female/male fencer designs. We started a collaboration with an artist in the Philippines. It’s been a fun project and we are excited to work with more artists in the future!

  • The world of fencing has offered some of the best life skills for our sons Caden and Kai. We love our community, coaches and club mates!

Your purchase will make a difference! A percentage of our on-line retail sales will go back to our YEL Fencing Club in Hopkins, Minnesota. There is new opportunity to help build the club and sport— we are excited to be a part of that. Our intention is to help a community that’s been so helpful to us. THANK YOU KINDLY for your support!

  • Our current artist featured is Inha Arceo who is from Manila, Philippines. Inha is a Brand Builder, Business Owner, Entrepreneur, Artist and Illustrator.

Her main focus is making Self-Care and Self-Love Fine Art Prints for the soul. She also illustrates custom-made minimalistic custom digital illustrations.

We adore Inha and had a fun time creating our fencers! We wanted presence, strength and a coolness factor— Inha provided it all!

Keep your eye out for more designs and new artists in the future!

    —The Academy of Fencing Masters

  • Since the beginning of the modern Olympic Games in 1896, fencing has been one of only five sports to be included in every edition.
